The Future of NASA
Early last month, NASA posted a hiring notice for astronauts who would fly aboard spacecraft other than the shuttle. The Orion moonship with assistance from the Ares Launch Vehicle will eventually replace the shuttle, but not until at least 2015 when Congress grants NASA adequate funding to serve its needs. Wll this be early enough to reach NASA's 2037 timeframe for a mission to Mars?
